Our ethos is to underpin the holistic development of all children, with a particular focus on children’s emotional development and well-being  for each unique child  to learn and develop in safe and secure surroundings. We practice yoga and mindfulness and encourage children to understand positive affirmations to develop behaviours and self-confidence.

Kiddy Academy have developed particular focus on children’s Yoga and mindfulness. To help children manage their big emotions that can seem overwhelming at times. With breathing exercises and relaxation techniques. Learning how to manage emotions in a healthy, fun way is a life skill that children can carry with them until adulthood. Yoga helps boost the children’s self-esteem, enhances concentration, memory and develops their strength and flexibility. Each activity is aimed at focusing on emotions, as well calming down strategies after physical activity, it’s our relaxing moment at the end of activities to help recharge their batteries.

Within our curriculum, we adopt elements of ’the curiosity approach’ which is inspired by Reggio Emelia, Montessori and Steiner. This approach focuses on bringing a modern day approach to Early Years, aimed at igniting creativity and imagination into play. We encourage children to make meaningful connections with the natural world by giving unlimited natural play experiences.

Our carefully planned Kiddy Academy Curriculum is a custom-designed pedagogy framework, that represents our vision, aspiration, diversity and inclusion. We focus on placing the child at the core of our approach. It is designed so that it builds on what children know and can do, allowing every child to progress through the Early Years Foundation Stage. There is seven key areas of learning that form the foundation of our teachings. We advocate that each individual child has their own foundation for learning. These areas are further filtered into the EYFS characteristics of effective learning, indicating our understanding of what children should acquire within each learning area, to cater to the distinct developmental stages, Our curriculum is arranged across three age groups—Babies, Toddlers, and Pre- schooloverall focus is dedicated to School Readiness to prepare the children for their transition to school and lifelong learning.

Learning and Development

We focus on the children’s current interests and stage of development of each individual child to have a starting point for their own foundation for learning. A balance of child initiated and adult led activities encourages the children to discover and grow a wide range of skills through play in our exciting stimulating inclusive enhanced environments.

Our staff are our curriculum

Through practice and regular training, our staff are highly skilled in providing stimulating activities for each child that best suits their developing needs. The staff use a balance of “observation -planning-assessment cycle.

Parent involvement in our curriculum is encouraged through procedures for communication and feedback on monitoring and tracking of children’s development progress .

We use Tapestry online learning Journal. An easy-to-use and secure online learning journal helping staff and families celebrate their children’s learning and development.
