On Tuesday 13th December our School Ville children took a trip to the Museum on the train. We left nursery at around 9;15am and walked up to the train station where all of the children were really excited to see the different trains coming in and out of the station. We enjoyed a short trip to Liverpool central with time for a quick snack on the way. When we got off the train it was just a short walk through town up to the Museum.

Inside the Museum we got to explore each different floor, we seen different types of fish, statues of dinosaurs, we explored the rain forest and looked at different mummies of animals. We also got to dress up like Egyptians.and explorers. We were able to use magnifying glasses to have a closer look at butterflies beetles and the bones, teeth etc of different animals.

After exploring all the floors we were a bit hungry so we had a break to eat our packed lunch.

After this we explored space and watched a video of an astronaut in space at zero gravity eating water out of the air. We had an educational session booked in the Planetarium where we were able to sit and watch the Sunflower show which taught us all about stars and how the sun worked.

We then left the Museum and went to have a look outside the Dream works display at St George’s Hall, we then got the train back to nursery. Some of us fell asleep on the train home as our little legs were tired from all the walking we had done and all the fun we had at the Museum.

Overall it was a great day and the children really enjoyed themselves. Here are some photos of us having fun!

Zoo Lab’s visit to Kiddy Academy Hunts Cross

On Tuesdau 23rd August, we had our annual visit from Zoo Lab to see our Toddler City 2 and School Ville children.

This year we chose the story of Morph the Munching Millipede. Which is a story based on The Hungry Caterpillar. The children got to meet millipedes, giant African land snails, a tarantula, a cockroach, a tree frog and a corn snake. The children really enjoyed the experience and got to hold most of the animals individually. Peter from Zoo Lab told the story involving each animal and elaborating about each one so the children could learn some facts and get the most out of the experience.

This fitted in nicely with our topic at nursery for these classes at the moment as we have recently just had some caterpillars delivered so we can observe the process of them morphing into butterflies. 20160823_092929  20160823_093013       20160823_095014 20160823_095133      20160823_095726   20160823_100101    20160823_100137    20160823_100322 20160823_100518 20160823_100650   20160823_100909       20160823_101224   20160823_101427   20160823_101534     20160823_101710  20160823_101733        20160823_095133        20160823_100208    20160823_100859        20160823_101522    20160823_101710 20160823_101910  20160823_102021
